The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

The Mayo Clinic published this article titled, Forgiveness: Letting Go of Grudges and Bitterness.  They list the following benefits of Forgiveness.

Letting go of grudges and bitterness can make way for compassion, kindness and peace. Forgiveness can lead to:

  • Healthier relationships
  • Greater spiritual and psychological well-being
  • Less anxiety, stress and hostility
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Fewer symptoms of depression
  • Lower risk of alcohol and substance abuse

Forgiveness does not excuse the hurt or take away the responsibility.  It does not change the past but it changes YOU.  Without forgiveness you cannot move on to Peace, JOY and Love.

Matthew 6:14

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
